Offline Address Book

In order for Exchange 2007 customers using Outlook 2007 to download the Offline Address Book, an 'autodiscover' CNAME DNS record needs to be created. If you are using SyncMyMail's DNS servers this record will automatically be created and nothing needs to be done.

If you are using your own nameservers a CNAME record needs to be created that redirects 'autodiscover.domain.com' to 'mob.exchangecarrier.net'. (Substitute domain.com with your actual domain name. Without this DNS record, Outlook 2007 users will receive an 'object not found' error after connecting to their Exchange mailboxes.

In addition to the Offline Address Book, the Out of Office Autoresponse and Free/Busy Calendar features will not function properly if the 'autodisover' entry does not exist.

Sharepoint Hosting

After you have signed up for Sharepoint hosting, SyncMyMail will automatically add a DNS entry for your new Sharepoint site within 24 hours. You will receive an email that includes the full URL and DNS record setup instructions if you are hosting your own DNS for your domain name. Users can manage different roles (Admin, User, Designer, Reader, etc) through http://cp.syncmymail.com under the User Management -> Users -> Services -> Sharepoint option.

Split-Domain Setup

A split domain will allow your organization to host email on both SyncMymail's Exchange 2007 platform and a remote mail system. This is useful if your company has a large POP3 installation and would like to setup a subset of users on Hosted Exchange.

User Spam Settings

Per-User spam control settings can be managed by the customer administrator through http://cp.syncmymail.com by following the below steps.

1. Enter the user you want to edit on the User Mangement form and click Go.
2. Click Services on the user and expand Hosted Exchange 2007.
3. Click on the Service Access Level that is enabled for the user.
4. Check the Anti-Spam box and modify the users spam control settings. Click Apply and then Provision to complete the change.
