OCS 2007 offers a complete and interactive tour. Office Communicator offers much more than non-secure instant messaging systems, like Skype, Google Talk, Yahoo and ICQ Messenger. Office Communicator Workspace
Learn how Communicator makes it easier to collaborate with co-workers, whether they are across the hall or around the world.

Sign In
Part of configuring your Communicator workspace is publishing your phone numbers, and checking your video and audio settings.

Set up a Contact List
In Communicator, your Contact List is your directory of everyone you need to communicate with regularly. This is your starting point for communicating with your contacts, whether by instant message, phone, e-mail or Microsoft Office Live Meeting.

Get To Work

Set your Presence Level
Communicator automatically displays your current availability status, but you can manually set your availability status at any time.

How others contact you
Your presence information indicates that you are available, and people may contact you by instant message, e-mail or telephone.

Alerts
Communicator diplays an alert, and shows you whether it's an IM, e-mail, conference call, video or phone call. You can answer, decline or redirect. When it's a phone call you can forward it to for instance your mobile phone.

Add communication modes as needed
Communicator gives you the flexibility to immediately add the communication modes you need - instant messages, phone call, video call, or Live Meeting - to fit your task.

From Outlook
Presence information is now built into many Microsoft Office System applications, including Office Outlook. When you receive a calendar invite or email, you can contact that person directly from within Outlook

From SharePoint
Presence information built into SharePoint allows you to start a conversation from any name.
